Job Overview of Registered NurseCurrently offering $1000 Sign On
Bonus for this Position- Entry Level ConsideredUnder the
supervision of The Chief Nurse, administers nursing care to a
diverse multicultural injured, convalescent, or disabled
pediatric/adult patients; safely administers specific medications
to patients.Essential Duties of Registered NurseKey duties of this
position include, but are not limited to, the following:1.
Understanding and supporting the agencys mission & treatment
philosophy:- Treats all children, families and co-workers with
respect & courtesy- Demonstrates and models sensitivity to cultural
background of children, families and co-workers- Honors Sanctuary
Commitments in all day to day activities2. Provides nursing care to
multiple pediatric residents- Treats all children, families and
co-workers with respect & courtesy- Accurate Physical/Emotional
Assessment of patients- Documentation of nurse findings in
electronic medical record (Omni)- Communicates with treatment team
and parents as needed- Identifies potential health and safety risks
and communicates immediately with Chief Nurse to resolve
issues/concerns immediately3. Documentation- Documents nurse
findings in electronic medical record (Omni)- Documents medication
administration in medication administration record- Completes Staff
injury report per Agency guidelines- Provides input into the Daily
Health Center report as requested- Completes other documentation as
requested4. Collegiality/Teamwork- Works effectively with others-
Flexible and accommodating in unplanned or crisis situations.-
Seeks and accepts help and direction when necessary- Actively
participates in team discussions; cooperates with work plans- Works
collaboratively with others on special projects as assigned5.
Safely manages all aspects of job responsibilities:- Maintains a
safe & hazardfree work area. Effectively monitors facilities &
equipment for cleanliness and hazards. Informs Chief Nurse in
timely manner.- Identifies potential program risks and brings
issues to the attention of the Chief Nurse in timely manner.6.
Attends non-mandatory Agency meetings/training as requested.7.
Supports overall strategic plan of the organization8. Ability to
adhere to our organizations core values and commitments.Work
Schedule: 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday,
Saturday)Essential Qualifications of Registered NurseKey
qualifications include:1. Registered Nurse, New York State
Registered Nurse. Basic Life Support (BLS) current certification.2.
At least three (3) years clinical experience with pediatric nursing
or primary care in mental health or pediatric health setting
preferred. Residential experience preferred.3. Description of
general skill set: Professional demeanor; Strong oral and written
communication skills. Safe clinical nursing and medication
administration experience. Experience and sensitivity to diverse
multicultural nursing population.4. Specific skill set: Strong
nursing clinical skills: physical/mental/emotional assessment
skills of pediatric patients, including support of family.
Experience with trauma preferred.5. Ability to adhere to our
organizations core values. Demonstrated emotional stability to cope
with human suffering, emergencies, and other stressors.6.
Background in Pediatric and Family Nursing; Community Health;
Patient-Family Relations (Customer Relations) preferred.7. NYS
Drivers License8. Ability to access and utilize ADP app on
smartphone or other device for access to agency
programs.Physical/Travel Requirements of Registered NurseCandidates
who are successfully hired, must participate in our Therapeutic
Crisis Intervention training which concludes with a written and
verbal test, and you will be evaluated on conducting a proper
