Join our dedicated team in Morristown, NJ, where you will perform mammographic procedures on inpatients and outpatients, adhering to department protocols. Your role involves reviewing prescriptions, history questionnaires, and patient records to ensure all necessary information is available for radiologist interpretation. You will conduct radiologic examinations with exceptional accuracy in positioning and technical factors, while practicing universal precautions and aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination.

Practice National Patient Safety Goals by obtaining a minimum of two patient identifiers with each patient.
Process images using the Client system and complete cases in a timely manner.
Ensure daily cleanup of work lists and monitor the Exceptions List.
Utilize the Breast reporting system (PenRad), EMR, and PACS systems effectively.
Load external imaging, create necessary orders, and scan reports into the PACS system for radiologist review.
Analyze each acquired image for proper positioning and identification, repeating images if necessary.
Maintain a respectful relationship with patients, addressing their physical and psychological needs.
Clearly explain procedures and respect cultural differences, using Cyracom phone for language barriers when needed.
Maintain cleanliness and ensure the work area is well-stocked with supplies.
Communicate efficiently with coordinators, supervisors, and vendors, ensuring continuity regarding equipment malfunctions.
Work with the Ultrasound team to ensure productive patient flow through both modalities.
Perform bone density scans and assist with interventional procedures as needed.
Practice radiation protection principles and perform QA as per MQSA guidelines.
Orient new employees and participate as a preceptor for procedures if requested.
Demonstrate reliability in attendance and provide advance notice for absences.

Skills

Required Skills & Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience.
Able to perform screening and diagnostic mammography.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

Ability to perform DEXA and Biopsy procedures is a plus.

Education

Required Education:

HS Diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an accredited course in Radiologic Technology or Mammography.

Certifications & Licensure

Required Certifications & Licensure:

ARRT (R) and (M).
New Jersey Diagnostic Rad Tech license - certified in Mammography.
BLS certification.
Must meet all ECE requirements to maintain Mammo certification, including performing at least 200 Mammograms in 36 months to meet MQSA requirements.
